My name is Ryuji Sanjo. I'm a 16-year old student living with my family. You could say my life is pretty normal, a good group of friends, decent grades, no girlfriend, what you would call a normal teenager. Everything was normal for me...well it was, until I met her...

                                                Chapter I
                                             "The Beginning"

Today was a normal day at school. Nothing had happened and it didn't seem like something was going to happen at all. My last period teacher was absent so i left school earlier and for no reason headed to the mall. The mall was about 5 minutes walking from school, so it was often very crowded with students. Today it wasn't. Walking with my head down, a small beam of light flashed for a split second down from the sky...I quickly looked forward but didn't saw anything. "Must be my imagination" i said. I made it to the mall, and walked around aimlessly for almost an hour...like if waiting for something to happen. Then it happened...
I was about to head out of the mall, so as I always do, I went to the restrooms. My dad told me once that i should always go to the restrooms before leaving the mall or a restaurant. "Better safe than sorry!", he always said...I miss my dad...when I cleaned my tears in the sink i heard a loud bang just outside of the bathroom. "Yamete!", someone screamed, and I quickly ran out to see what was going on, and then i saw a girl with long pink hair to my left laying on the floor, with wet eyes like if she was about to burst into tears. I was about to ask her what was going on, when i noticed a huge, samurai-looking man to my right with a long katana in his hand. He was going to kill her! The samurai charged on to her, but I jumped and pushed the samurai to the floor. He crashed against a soda machine, which fell on top of him and knocked him out for a minute. The girl was looking at me with her eyes wide open and still wet, but she wasn't crying. "She must be a strong girl" i thought, and i asked her "Are you alright?". I standed up and walked to her and she ran away. "Hey, wait!", I screamed, but she kept running. I was worried about her because she didn't looked like she was from around town, but my worries for her became bigger when i noticed the samurai wasn't under the soda machine anymore! "I have to find her!" I went out the back door and ran as fast as i could to the front entrance of the mall. While I was running I started wondering who was that strange girl, why was a samurai trying to kill her, and why did I worried so much for someone i don’t even know! The girl ran across the entire mall looking for a place to hide. She was afraid of people, so she didn't trusted anyone. Whenever someone asked her if she was OK, she just shrieked and keeps running faster. She was scared, but she didn't cry, no matter how hard she wanted to, she didn't cry. I saw her running out of the front entrance, and when i was going to call her, the samurai man came out of nowhere, landed in front of her holding is sword and gave a quick, blinding-fast slash. The girl opened her eyes and looked astonished to what just had happened. The samurai man said "I will be back...too bad he won't be here to protect you again". The girl looked at me and said "Daijobou desu ka". I didn't understand what that meant, but her voice was really sweet...then i felt how my skin was slowly slicing apart by the slash. I fainted and fell to the floor.
I felt how I was slowly dying...I felt my life was sliding away from my body...I felt my body falling in slow motion to the floor...it was over for me...but the girl didn't seem to want it that way. She held my body and didn't let me fall to the ground. She gave me a kiss...a kiss... It may have seemed like a normal kissed, but it felt like so much more. I felt my body glowing and getting lighter and lighter...as if i was floating. She hugged me and laid her head on my chest, "I'm glad you are ok".
